How to Connect an Xbox Memory Card to a PC

The Xbox is a sixth-generation gaming console distributed by Microsoft. It offers a variety of games to play as well as Internet connectivity for online gaming and download capabilities. The Xbox memory card stores data on games such as scores and levels reached. You can transfer this information to a PC for archiving using a special adapter and third party driver software.

  • Xbox controller HID minidriver for PC
  • Xbox controller break-away to PC USB "A" male adapter

Instructions

    • 1

      Download the Xbox controller HID minidriver for the computer (see Resources). Double-click the file and follow all prompts to complete the installation. Reboot the computer if necessary.

      Insert the Xbox controller break-away to PC USB "A" male adapter into the Xbox controller. Insert the other end of the cable into the computer.

      Place the Xbox memory card into the Xbox memory card port. Power on the Xbox.

      Click "OK" on the computer screen when Windows conveys it has found the card.

      Click "Start," "Computer" and click "Devices With Removable Storage." Double-click the Xbox memory card.
