How to Make a Halo Reach Invasion Map

An Invasion map in Halo Reach isn't as hard as building a map normally in the Forge mode. It just requires a little more in-depth work and specific points to obtain a map that is accessible and fun to play. Here are a couple guidelines in order to build a fun map to play in the Invasion mode.

      Build three objectives for each phase of the game. First, A Territory objective by placing an object on the map and giving it the INV_OBJECTIVE value and define the area around it. Secondly, set up an area for the Assault with the INV_OBJ_FLAG value and the CTF objective with the INV_OBJECTIVE value and also define the area around it. Lastly, assign a phase number one, two or three to each objective through the Spawn Sequence field.

      Set up three spawn locations for each of the players on the Spartan and Elite sides. An Initial spawn location first for each side when they start the match with either Red or Blue. Secondly, set up a Backfield spawn location for both teams so they can spawn in different spots on the map using the INV_RES_ZONE value. Lastly, set up a Phased spawn location using a INV_RES_P1 or P2 or P3 value, each P describes what team can use it with 3 being both teams.

      Create a safe zone for the map since the map will need boundaries to make the game fun. Using a Hard Safe Zone will kill the player upon arrival whereas with a Soft Safe Zone, they will have 10 seconds to get back to the map.
