Initial Troubleshooting Steps
Turn off the console. Wait until the console's lights are off and its fan has stopped spinning before continuing.
Unplug all cables and peripherals connected to the console, including the hard drive, if present. Allow the console and peripherals to cool for 30 minutes.
Arrange the console's location and environment so that it allows for plenty of airflow. This allows the unit to remain as cool as possible.
Plug the power and audio/video cables back into the console and turn it back on. If the problem has been resolved, turn the console back off and reconnect all peripherals.
Console Freezes
Remove the game disc and inspect the bottom. If there are smudges or debris, remove them using a microfiber cloth, cleaning from the center of the disc outward.
Retry the disc, ensuring that the console is given ample time to reboot the disc.
Try another game disc, preferably the same game, and see whether the issue persists. This will determine whether the issue relates to your specific game disc or it is console causing the issue.
Clear the System Cache
Us the game controller to navigate to "My Xbox," "System Settings" then "Memory" from the Xbox 360 dashboard.
Highlight your primary storage device and press the "Y" button on the controller.
Select "Clear System Cache," then "Yes" in the confirmation dialog box that pops up.
