XBox Headset Wiring

The headset for the Xbox 360 is a two-way device, designed to receive and transmit voice data. Normally, the headset is used to communicate with allies and teammates during multiplayer gaming matches, although in many single-player games you can use the device to issue commands to your virtual allies. No matter the use, the Xbox 360 headset's wiring to the game controller is simple and intuitive.

      Flip the game controller on its back, with the bottom of the device facing you.

      Locate the small 3.5-millimeter jack on the bottom of the controller. This will correspond to the 3.5-millimeter plug on the headset.

      Slide the 3.5-millimeter plug into the corresponding jack on the controller. Make sure the headset's plug seats fully into the jack.

      Turn on the headset with the switch on the plug. Adjust the volume as needed to hear voices ad chat, using the volume slider on the plug.
