How to Clean the XBox Console?

Dust is the bane of the electronics world, as it's seemingly attracted to computer chips like magnets are to steel. Like all electronic devices, over time a thick layer of dust will build up on your Xbox 360 console. If unabated, dust will eventually block out the air intake vents and cause overheating damage. Before you get out the all-purpose cleaner and a scrub brush, you need to educate yourself on the proper techniques of Xbox 360 cleaning, as there are several dos and don'ts that must be conformed to.

Clean, dry washcloth
Vacuum cleaner with attachment (optional)

  Remove any discs from the disc tray and unplug all the cords from your Xbox 360, including power, network, A/V and USB. When ready, place it on a clean table or other area where you can freely access its entire outer surface.

  Take a clean, dry washcloth and gently wipe the dust from the surface of your Xbox 360 console. Make sure that you get the rubber feet completely dust-free, as it is important that they are able to grip the surface they are placed on, especially when in the upright position.

  Reposition your Xbox 360 in the desired location and reconnect all the necessary cords. Your Xbox 360 is now cleaned and ready for use again.
