How to Change the Region Code for Xbox 360 Games

The Xbox 360 is a seventh-generation console that offers games for players worldwide based on region. Certain regions are not allowed to view games distributed in other regions. If you wish to play games specifically designed for a region such as Japan or Brazil, you could change the region you use with a Windows Live ID.

Instructions

  Navigate to the "Windows Live" email account on the computer. Click "Get Account" and "Get it."

  Enter a screen name that you wish to use and a secure password twice.

  Enter a country/region, city and postal code. Choose one that you prefer and match the postal code to the city. Enter the CAPTCHA phrase and press "Finish."

  Turn the Xbox 360 on. Select "Network," "Join XBox Live." Click "Continue" and select the game you wish to play. Click "Done" and "Yes."

  Type the email address you just created in Steps 2 and 3 and click "Done." Enter the password for the email address and click "Done." Download what you need from the new region.
