How to Flash an Xbox Chip

An Xbox game console system plays games, but can also do many other things. You can use a mod chip to transfer files and the bios from your computer to your Xbox. One benefit of flashing the Xbox chip is that you can customize games, such as customizing the level. Use the Cromwell Linux BIOS CD that is shipped with Xbox game consoles to flash your Xbox chip.

  • Xbox with mod chip
  • Computer
  • USB cable
  • Cromwell Linux BIOS CD

Instructions

    • 1

      Insert the modchip into a port on the front of your Xbox game console.

      Connect one end of a USB cable to the modchip and the other end to a USB port on your computer. The flashing software will automatically open. Click "OK" to load the BIOS from your computer to your Xbox.

      Boot up the Xbox to activate the modchip. Burn the BIOS onto the Cromwell Flash BIOS CD.

      Insert the CD you just burned into your Xbox when you are instructed to. The flashing process will automatically begin. When the process is complete, remove the CD and your Xbox chip has been flashed.
