How to Import Your Own Music to Test Drive Unlimited for Xbox 360

Atari's "Test Drive Unlimited," released for the Xbox 360 in the fall of 2006, attempted to create a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game for racing fans. The game allowed players connected to Xbox live to cruise the island of Oahu looking for online opponents. This game also made use of the Xbox 360's ability to play custom music tracks from external media instead of simply using the tracks included with the game. This combination made for a unique and highly customizable experience.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in a supported external media device or MP3 player into one of the USB ports on the front of the console. The Xbox 360 accepts USB memory devices and external hard drives, Zune players and pre iPod Touch and iPhone iPods. Players with music stored on the Xbox hard drive may skip this step.

    • 2

Insert the game disc and launch "Test Drive Unlimited."

    • 3

Push the Xbox "Guide" button on the controller to open the "Dashboard."

    • 4

Press the directional pad to open the "Media" tab.

    • 5

Select "Music Library" and choose the source of the music files.

    • 6

Highlight the desired track and click the "A" button to play the song. Push the "Guide" button to return to "Test Drive Unlimited."
