How to Transfer Video Files From a Portable Device to an Xbox 360

Xbox 360 is Microsoft's popular video game console, and like the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3, the video game machine can stream sports games, play music, display pictures and play videos. In 2007, Microsoft added support for a number of different video formats. Using the Xbox's USB port, you can connect your portable storage device, transfer the files to the system and watch your videos on your television.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your portable drive to your Xbox 360's USB port (in the back of the console) via a USB cable.

    • 2

Power on the Xbox 360 by pressing the power button or the "Xbox" button on the controller.

    • 3

Select "Video Library" from the Xbox 360 dashboard.

    • 4

      Select "Portable Device."

    • 5

Navigate to the desired video, and select it to transfer it to the Xbox and begin playback.
