Stream Music From a PC
Turn on your PC and connect the Xbox 360 console to your home network using a wired or wireless connection.
Test the connection to your PC. Go to "My Xbox" on your Xbox 360 console and select "System Settings." Choose "Network Settings" from the system settings menu and then select the name of your home network from the list of available networks. From the network settings menu, select the option "Test PC Connection." A message will notify you if there is a problem with the connection.
Enable media sharing. Run Windows Media Player on your PC and click the "Library" tab. Select "Media Sharing" from the drop down menu to bring up the media sharing dialogue box. Check the box next to "Share My Media" and then choose the Xbox 360 console from the list of available devices. Click "Allow" to share media with the selected device(s).
Go to "My Xbox" on the Xbox 360 console and select "Music Library."
Select the name of your PC from the list of available sources.
Choose the name of the music file you want to play to start streaming it from your PC to the Xbox 360 console.
Load Music From a Portable Storage Device
Load music files onto a portable storage device.
Connect the portale storage device to one of the USB ports on the Xbox 360 console.
Go to "My Xbox" and select "Music Library."
Select "Portable Device" from the list of available sources.
Select the name of the music file you want to play to load it from the portable media device.
