Playing a DVD using your Xbox 360 system is a simple process and which can be accomplished in just a few short steps.

      Press the Power button on your Xbox 360 system. It is located on the front plate of your system by the right-hand side. The desktop screen will load up, allowing you to manage your system settings, user accounts and game data.

      Press the Eject button to open the disc holder. The Eject button is located on the front plate of your system by the left-hand side. Place your DVD into the disc holder and press the Eject button to close it. Keep in mind that you cannot play Blu-ray movies on your Xbox 360.

      Wait for the DVD to begin playing automatically. On some Xbox 360 systems, a DVD will not begin automatically. In this case simply wait for your system to register the disc and press the "A" button to begin playing.

      Press the "B" button at any time during the movie to bring up the Options screen. This will allow you to forward, reverse and pause the movie. You can also add subtitles or change the language settings. A benefit of playing DVDs on your Xbox 360 is that it will automatically upconvert the movie's resolution.
