How to Use a Motorola Headset With Xbox 360

The Motorola X205 headset is a replica of the headset NFL coaches wear. While it's not the exact model, the headset does look similar to what you see coaches wearing on the sidelines. The headset comes with noise-canceling technology and offers you the option of muting your voice and controlling the input volume. After you connect your Motorola headset, you can begin using it right away as long as you're playing a game that supports voice chat.

Instructions

  Insert the large end of the provided connector into the jack at the bottom of your Xbox 360 controller. The large end includes a silver plastic faceplate that houses the volume control and mute function. Plug the other end of the connector into your Motorola headset underneath the earpiece.

  Place the headset on your head, with the large earpiece covering your left ear; the microphone should sit a few inches in front of your mouth. If the headset doesn't fit correctly, you can pull the sides of the headset down or up to adjust the fitting.

  Turn on your Xbox 360 and insert an Xbox Live multiplayer game that supports voice chat. Enter the multiplayer mode of the game.

  Begin talking. You should also be able to hear other players talking through their headsets. Toggle the "Mute" button on or off by pressing it on the silver faceplate. Move the volume control up or down to increase or decrease the input volume. You cannot change your output volume.
