Using a USB Mass Storage Device
Turn on your Xbox 360. Sign into your Xbox Live profile. Agree to download any updates if prompted.
Connect the USB mass storage device into an empty USB slot on the front or back of your Xbox 360.
Use the thumb stick on your controller to navigate to "My Xbox." Choose "System Settings" and click "Memory."
Scroll down and click "USB Storage Device." If you want to use all the memory on the USB drive, then click "Configure Now." If you want to use only a portion of the memory, click "Customize" and move the slider to indicate how much memory you want to use and then click "Configure." Your Xbox will inform you when the device is configured. You can now copy information from your other memory drives to the USB device or save your future information to the USB device.
Select the "USB Storage Device" when you save data to the device.
Click "Memory" under "System Settings" to copy information from a memory drive to your USB device. Select the drive you want to copy from. Click on the data you want to copy over to the USB drive and select "Copy." Click your USB mass storage device when the "Device" lists appears. Your Xbox will inform you when the data is copied.
Using a USB to Play Music
Power on your Xbox 360 and sign into your profile. Connect your USB memory stick into an available USB port on your Xbox 360. You can also connect a portable music device if the device supports USB connections.
Navigate to "My Xbox" and click "Music Library." Choose "Portable Device."
Scroll through the list of songs and choose the one you wish to play. You can also click "Play all."
