Partnering Up
When competing in a tag match, you can increase your chances of victory by selecting a suitable pair of fighters. On the pre-match screens, the wrestlers will give you a clue as to whether the pairing will work. If they shake their heads, it is a bad sign. There is also a clue on the "VS" screen just prior to the match taking place: if there is a halo icon, the pairing you've selected is a good one; conversely, a lightning bolt is a bad sign.
Lethal Moves
Each character in "Rumble Roses XX" has three special throws that can be used to inflict more damage on an opponent. The most effective of these are the "lethal" moves. Each of these has a specific situation you have to be in to do the move. Familiarizing yourself with these can take you a long way towards mastery of the game. They are different for each wrestler, but learning the relevant situations for a few of your favorite characters should be sufficient. For example, if you are playing as Evil Rose, you need to be on top of the turnbuckle with your opponent lying down on the mat. If you're playing as Yasha, your opponent must be running towards you.
Increase Popularity
The notion of a wrestler's popularity is important in "Rumble Roses XX," and increasing your character's popularity can only be done if you're playing the right type of match. If you are playing as a good character, winning ordinary matches (standard pin-fall matches) increases your popularity; if you're playing as an evil character, you have to win matches in Street Fight mode.
Play the Correct Modes
"Rumble Roses XX" doesn't exactly make it obvious how to advance in the game. (There was a story mode in the original PlayStation 2 "Rumble Roses," but this was axed for "Rumble Roses XX.") In order to advance through "Rumble Roses XX," avoid Exhibition mode. This is largely to give you a place to practice moves and get to grips with the game's operation. Instead, gain skills and unlock characters by playing on Street Fight, Queens, Arena and Skyscraper matches.
