Halo: Combat Evolved
The human M6D pistol is a single-fire handgun and is part of the human weapon loadout. It can hold 12 rounds per clip with a maximum reserve of 120 rounds. It also features a 2x zoom, making it effective at both close range and midrange. The human MA5B assault rifle is the primary human assault gun. It can hold 60 rounds per clip with a maximum reserve of 600 rounds. It has limited range and is most effective when fired in bursts. The alien plasma pistol is a semi-automatic energy pistol and is part of the default Covenant weapon loadout. It can fire a charged burst of energy beams that deals double the damage, but overheats the gun in the process. The alien plasma rifle is a fully automatic energy rifle. It does not require ammo and can be used until the internal battery is depleted.
Halo 2
The M6C magnum replaces the M6D pistol from "Halo: Combat Evolved, aka "Halo 1." Similar to the M6D pistol, it can hold 12 rounds, but is less accurate at long range than the pistol. The BR55 battle rifle is a semi-automatic rifle that is part of the human weapon loadout. In addition to a 2x zoom, it has increased accuracy, making it more effective at long range when compared to the magnum. The brute plasma rifle behaves similarly to the standard alien plasma rifle; however, it fires at twice the speed and deals less damage. The needler is a high-powered alien weapon that shoots shards of needles and has the ability to lock on to its target.
Halo 3
The SMG is a human submachine gun. It can hold up to 60 rounds, making it one of the largest capacity clips in the game. It spray fires, making it most accurate at short range. The human sniper rifle is a long-ranged rifle that has a 10x zoom. It has a steep learning curve, but can drop shields and kill instantly when used properly. The alien equivalent, the beam rifle, has the same characteristics as the human sniper rifle. The beam rifle can get 11 shots on a single battery.
