How to Modify a Wireless 360 Controller

For many first-person shooters for the Xbox 360, a faster trigger pull can mean the difference between victory and defeat. The most powerful weapons in such games, such as rifles and high-caliber pistols, require an individual trigger pull for each bullet fired. Fortunately, you can modify your wireless Xbox 360 controller for rapid-fire functionality with a few household products, affording you a formidable edge on the virtual battlefield.

Things You'll Need

  • Metal paper clip
  • Hot glue gun with sticks
  • Gloves (optional)

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off your Xbox 360 and disconnect the controller's charge pack. Place the controller upside-down on a flat working surface.

    • 2

Plug in a hot glue gun and allow the tip to warm up for at least five minutes.

    • 3

Insert a glue stick into the hot glue gun and pull the trigger to feed the stick into the heated tip. Run a bead of hot glue along the right trigger on your Xbox controller.

    • 4

Press a paper clip into the soft glue. The paper clip should run along the length of the trigger, with approximately half of the clip extending past the end.

    • 5

Allow the hot glue to dry for five to ten minutes.

    • 6

Replace the charge pack in your controller and boot up a first-person shooter on your Xbox 360.

    • 7

Press the paper clip with the pointer and middle fingertips of your right hand in an alternating fashion to double your normal trigger pull speed.

    • 8

Practice using your newly modded controller before taking your rapid-fire functionality online and dominating your friends.
