General Information
The Xbox 360 Pro shared the same design as the Xbox 360 Arcade: a white tower casing with a DVD drive, memory card slots and power button on the front. No colored versions of the Xbox 360 Pro were released, although a faceplate of any cover or design could be added to the front of the console. The Xbox 360 Pro supported both standard and high-definition TVs, could play CDs and DVDs and could connect to a PC via Windows Media Center.
Motherboard and Graphics
The Xbox 360 Pro was the first Xbox 360 to feature the Zephyr motherboard, which was designed to reduce overheating and prevent the infamous "red ring of death" error associated with the Xbox 360. It also featured a quieter system fan. The graphics card was designed by ATI specifically for the Xbox 360. It had a fill rate of 500 million triangles/sec and supported a maximum resolution of 1920 by 1080.
Memory and Inputs
The Xbox 360 Pro included 512 MB of internal memory, 256 MB more than the Xbox 360 Arcade. The Pro also included a detachable 20 GB hard drive, which could be used to store game demos and system updates. In addition to a standard audio video port, three USB ports and one Ethernet port, the Pro was the first Xbox 360 model to include an HDMI port. Up to four wireless controllers can be connected simultaneously.
