How to Access Xbox 360 Media on a PC

Associating an Xbox 360 console with a networked PC is a simple process that allows pictures, music, and movies to be shared between the devices. By connecting the 360 to a wired or wireless router you can access console multimedia instantly on your PC's hard-drive.

      Plug one end of the network cable into the I/O port on the back of the Xbox 360. Plug the other end into an open port on a router. Boot the PC, then turn on the Xbox 360 console.

      Download and install Microsoft Service Pack by selecting "Check for Updates" from your PC's "Start Menu." Download the latest version of Windows Media Player from the Microsoft Download Center, then restart the PC.

      Open Windows Media Player and select "Library" from the top bar, then "Media Sharing...". Check the box beside "Share my media" and click "OK."

      Left click on the console icon to select the Xbox 360 from the shared devices list when prompted. Click the "Allow" button to share media with the PC. Click "Apply" to confirm the changes.

      Select "Library" and choose the console to see a list of media available on the 360. Click "Play" to stream the selected media from the 360 to the connected PC.
