How to Play Last.fm on an Xbox 360

Last.fm is an Internet radio site which allows its users to stream music. As of fall 2010, Last.fm can also be used by Xbox Live Gold members on the Xbox 360. The site was founded in the United Kingdom in 2002 and brought to the Xbox 360 in 2009. Last.fm builds a profile for users' musical tastes by keeping track of songs they listen to online and on portable devices. Users can make custom radio stations, or create playlists from any of the audio tracks in Last.fm's music library.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Xbox 360 console and controller. Once the homepage has loaded, navigate up to the headline "Music Marketplace."

    • 2

Navigate to the right and select Last.fm by pressing the "A" button.

    • 3

Log in to Last.fm using a profile which has already been created or, if need be, create a new profile. Create a new profile by simply entering a username, email address and password.

    • 4

Allow scrobbling and photos to be used when setting up a new account to get the most out of your experience. Scrobbling is the last.fm process of adding songs you've played to a log. From this log, your top artist, tracks and musical recommendations are calculated for you. The automatic track logging process is called scrobbling and helps last.fm choose songs you will enjoy.

    • 5

Browse through the stations and hit "A" to listen to one. Otherwise, navigate to "Start a New Station," where you can either search by artist name or enter a tag which correlates to the type of music you wish to listen to.

    • 6

Once you have selected a station, music will begin to play and can be paused, skipped, stopped and more in the bottom navigation toolbar.
