How to Sync an Xbox to Windows Media Center

The Xbox 360 can play much more than just games: if you connect the console to Windows Media Center, it can also play files directly from your computer, such as TV shows, music and photos--as well as online content. Windows Vista and Windows 7 computers come with all of the necessary software to connect to the Xbox 360.

      Navigate to the "My Xbox" tab from the main menu of the Xbox 360. Select "Windows Media Center."

      Scroll through the pages you are shown to receive the Media Center Setup Key. Write this eight-digit code down.

      Open the "Start" menu, then "Windows Media Center" on your computer. Choose "Tasks," then "Add Extender."

      Type in the eight-digit Media Center Setup Key and click "OK" to complete the setup.
