Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unscrew the screws on the back of your Xbox 360 controller. Open the controller's case and remove the PCB (it will look like a green computer chip) from the inside of the controller.
Plug the PCB into your Xbox 360 console and turn on your console. Put on your nonconductive gloves and use one of the hookup wires to tap the different paths on your PCB. Take note of which button goes where on the PCB.
Solder a segment of hook-up wire to the "A," "B," "X," "Y," "Right Bumper," "Left Bumper," "Start," "Back" and "Home" button paths. Solder your joystick's wiring harness onto the D-pad path on the PCB.
Glue your PCB to your PCB mounting plate. Screw your PCB mounting plate into your arcade stick case.
Flip your case over and determine the button layout for your arcade stick. Place the appropriate hookup wire through the button hole in your arcade stick case where you would like that button to be. Repeat for each button.
Solder the free end of the hookup wires to your arcade buttons. Push the buttons into place in the button holes when you are finished.
Insert your joystick into the joystick hole in your arcade stick case and screw the mount piece into place. Connect the wiring harness to the joystick.
Screw the cover onto the bottom of the arcade stick case. Add any artwork or customization to the outside of your case.
