How to Set Up an Xbox Controller for Dead Space

Xbox 360 owners have the option to change the settings on their controllers, configuring the buttons to suit their preferences. For the 2008 first-person shooter "Dead Space," where you assume the role of armor-clad hero Clarke as he blasts alien mutations, reconfiguring the controller may help you navigate the game a bit easier.

Instructions

    • 1

Power up your Xbox 360 console and insert a copy of "Dead Space" if a copy isn't already in the console's loading tray. Press the green "A" button to begin loading the game, once your TV screen displays "My Dashboard."

    • 2

Click on "Controller Settings" on the "Options" menu of the game's title screen (use the right thumbstick to navigate to highlight the option). Click "Configure Controller" to browse through the options for setting up your controller.

    • 3

Click on the button that you want to change. For example, in the default setting, the "A" button is the "Action/Shake" button. Press the "A" button, scroll to the appropriate action you want, and press the "A" button again to assign the action to that button.

Continue this method to assign other related game actions like "Weapon Swing," "Run," or "Curb Stomp" to buttons you'll remember easily during the heat of battle.
