How to Play Windows Media Player 11 Playlists on an Xbox 360

Microsoft designed the Xbox 360 to be compatible with Windows computers, making it possible to stream media from a PC to the video game console. Once the computer and console are set up to communicate with each other, any compatible media can be played through the Xbox 360, even playlists set up on the computer. Many people use this feature to play their own music on the Xbox while playing video games.

  Start Windows Media Player and click on the arrow below the "Library" tab.

  Select "Media Sharing" and check the box labeled "Share My Media." In the lists of devices that appear, select your Xbox 360 and choose "Allow."

  Turn on your Xbox 360 and sign in.

  Go to the "My Box" blade and select "Music Library."

  Choose the computer you just configured and then select "Saved Playlists" to play any playlist that is saved on that computer.
