How to Set Rapid Fire on XBox Controllers

As Xbox Live becomes more and more popular, an extra edge is needed in the gaming arena. Microsoft does not allow modification to the systems or the controllers if it will allow the user enough of a gain to be considered cheating. An acceptable handicap that will not cause problems with Xbox Live is known as rapid fire. Rapid fire enables a user to set a special controller to fire at a higher rate, and reload at a faster rate. This type of modification is not considered cheating, because great skill is still required to shoot a target.

  Obtain a modified Xbox 360 controller that will work with your console and game from Evil Controllers or another specialized controller website. This feature will not work on most games, so check the compatibility list for the specific controller being you wish to use.

  Start up the system and game and begin live game play. Enter all game modes as normally operated in multiplayer.

  Execute the correct controller combination to activate rapid fire. This information is usually available on the website from which you ordered the controller. For example, if using a controller from Evil Controllers and playing "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," a user will hold the right trigger and press the right directional key six times. It is possible that the controller used may also have an "On/Off" button for this function.
