The Drums Won't Turn On With My Xbox

The popular "Guitar Hero" series of video games isn't only for those would-be six stringers; certain releases in the series allow novice drummers to get in on the action. For Xbox owners, there may be a few issues that arise when trying to use the drums to play a round of "Guitar Hero," one of which is when the drums will not power up when the Xbox is turned on. Luckily there is a DIY remedy to fix the problem.

Instructions

  Flip the drum set over to click and remove the battery compartment cover; check the batteries to see the dates they were installed. Remove the batteries, discard them and install a fresh set of AAA batteries. Power up your console and see if the situation is corrected.

  Check all the corresponding cords and USB connection to make sure they are secure in their connections. Even if there is only a partial connection, the drums will not power up when the console is on.

  Press the sync button on the front of the console and the drum set simultaneously. Doing so links the two components together and allows the Xbox to "recognize" that the drum set exists.
