How to Transfer HDD Data to the New XBox 360 With a Memory Card

When you download games, save game files or download other media to your Xbox 360 game system, the data automatically stores on the console̵7;s hard drive (HDD). If you purchase a new system or just need to transfer saved data from one Xbox 360 to another, you can use a USB memory card. Depending on the size of the memory card and how much data you need to move, you may need to make multiple transfers.

Instructions

  1. Transfer Data to USB Memory card

    • 1

Insert the USB memory card in the USB slot of your Xbox 360 and turn the console on.

    • 2

Choose ̶0;My Xbox̶1; from the main menu screen.

    • 3

Click ̶0;System Settings,̶1; then select ̶0;Memory̶1; from the menu.

    • 4

Select ̶0;Hard Drive̶1; from the list of storage devices. You will see a list of storage items such as movies, games and profiles that are saved on the hard drive and how much space each data type is currently using.

    • 5

Select the data type you want to transfer. You will see a new list of data under that specific data type. For example, if you chose ̶0;Games̶1; as the data type, you will see a list of games currently saved to your hard drive.

    • 7

Choose your USB memory card from the list of storage devices and allow the console to move the data to the card.

    • 9

Exit the ̶0;Memory̶1; menu and remove the USB Memory card from the console̵7;s USB slot.
