How to Erase an Xbox 360 Memory Card

With an Xbox 360 memory card, game save data can be stored and, if desired, transferred to any other console. The memory card has limited space, however, so it is occasionally necessary to erase some of its files. Saved data can be viewed and deleted after the card is put into a card slot on the Xbox machine. Erasing content on a card only requires a few steps.

      Insert the memory card into one of the two memory slots on the front of the Xbox 360 console.

      Click the "My Xbox" tab. Select "System Settings," then "Memory."

      Find the memory card on the menu, then choose the type of content you want to delete. Select the data you want to delete, and choose "Delete" from the menu. Select "Yes" to confirm the deletion. Repeat for all the content you want to erase.
