There are dozens of Xbox 360 mods out there, each of which have different purposes. Some allow you to run other operating systems on your Xbox 360, essentially turning it into a makeshift PC. Others allow you to store and view media that otherwise wouldn't be able to be seen on your 360. But the majority of these mods, whether they be "hard" mods (physical changes to the hardware) or "soft" mods (software changes), are designed to allow people to play burned Xbox 360 games on their machines. While each of these mods adds functionality to the Xbox 360, none of them take away any of its existing functionality, including the ability to play Xbox games.
