How to Restore My XBox

Microsoft included a feature with the Xbox 360 in the event you ever need to restore your console. This procedure is performed via the Restore Gamertag feature, which transfers your license to the Xbox 360 console and restores your games to it. This is useful when your account is behaving strangely--such as with glitched achievements--or when you purchase a new console or hard drive.

     Press the guide button. This button is found in the center of your Xbox 360 controller and opens up the guide menu.

     Press "A" on "Recover Gamertag."

     Fill out the form, which requests your email address, password and gamertag.

   • 4

     Press "Next." Wait for the process to complete. It typically takes about ten minutes to restore.
