How to Load XBMC on an Xbox

The operating system of the Xbox game console, once modified, can access a home network and provide other features not intended by Microsoft. Load the Xbox Media Center (XBMC) on a modified Xbox to provides a graphical interface. A wired home network is needed in order to transfer the XBMC program from a PC that has downloaded it to the Xbox's hard drive.

Instructions

      Turn on the Xbox. Navigate to the "Network" setting. Select "FlashFTP"--which was installed on the Xbox when the operating system was modified--from the list of choices presented beneath "Network"

      Enter information about the home network and the Xbox in the appropriate text fields of the window that appears.

      Enter information about the PC's username and password into the appropriate text fields of the window that appears.

      Click the "Connect" button at the bottom of the window to connect to the PC.

      Click on the Xbox's "E" drive in the window that appears on the left side of the screen. Double-click on the "Apps" folder when it appears in the window.

      Double-click on the PC's "C" drive in the window that appears on the right side of the screen. Drag the XBMC file from the window into the "App" folder.

      Wait as a series of lines scroll up in the bottom of the window on the left side of the screen.

      Wait for the lines to stop scrolling. Quit the "FlashFTP" program. The XBMC program has been loaded on the Xbox's hard drive and can be installed at any time.
