My Xbox 360 Wireless Headset Won't Charge

The wireless headset for the Xbox 360 allows you to voice chat with your friends over Xbox Live without having to connect any wires to the controller. To keep your headset functional, you will need to recharge it periodically. If the headset will not take a charge, there could be several factors that you may need to troubleshoot.

  Bring the headset to room temperature. If the headset is excessively cold or excessively hot, which could be caused by sitting in direct sunlight, it may not charge properly. If this is the case, disconnect the power adapter and move the headset to a new location to either raise or lower the temperature as necessary. When the temperature is back to normal, charge it again with the power adapter.

  Charge the headset on a different power outlet. The outlet that you are using may be faulty. Try different outlets around the house to ensure that you are using a functional outlet.

  Use a different power adapter. If you know a friend who has the wireless headset, borrow his power adapter to determine if the problem lies with your power adapter.

  Contact customer support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX or visit the Xbox Support site (see Resources). If your headset still will not hold a charge, it may be faulty and in need of repair.
