My Xbox 360 Won't Play Guitar Hero World Tour

Rock out to such hits as Bob Seger's "Hollywood Nights" and Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way" in "Guitar Hero World Tour," the first "Guitar Hero" game to feature drums and vocals. If you're having problems getting the game disc or the music peripherals to work on you Microsoft Xbox 360, take troubleshooting steps to help solve the problem.

  Check the disc to make sure it's clean. If dirt or other foreign debris gets on the disc, it can cause it to not work properly. Clean the disc by holding it carefully on the edges and wiping it with a soft cloth. Wipe the disc from the center outward and do not use any chemicals or solvents.

  Eject the game disc and turn off the Xbox 360. Turn the console back on and reinsert the game disc. If this doesn't work, try playing other game discs in the console. You can also try playing your disc in another Xbox 360. If the disc works in a different console, there is likely a problem with your console.

  Make sure the guitar is properly synced if it doesn't seem to work. Press the "Sync" button on the guitar. This will cause the guide button lights to flash. Press the "Sync" button on the Xbox 360. These are near the memory card slots. The guide button lights on the guitar should stop flashing and settle on a player number. The drum set is synced in similar fashion.

  Check the microphone's USB plug to make sure it is fully plugged into a USB port on the Xbox 360 if you are having problems with this device. You must also use a controller in conjunction with the microphone to control on-screen action, so make sure you have one turned on.

  Move anything that uses a wireless transmitter away from the Xbox 360. This includes laptop computers, cordless phones, cell phones and other Xbox 360 controllers. These devices can cause interference with the operation of the Xbox 360 and its games.
