How Do I Get an Xbox Dashboard Back?

The Xbox Dashboard menu is the main system menu for the Microsoft Xbox 360 console. This is the menu used to access the Xbox Live Marketplace, manage profile settings, access hard drive data, and use other console functions. Most games do not have a built in option to go back to the Xbox Dashboard, but it can be reaccessed through the Xbox Guide menu. This menu is always accessible, even when playing games.

     Press the "Xbox" button on the Xbox 360 controller to open the Xbox Guide menu. The "Xbox" button is the gray button with a green "X" icon in the center of the controller.

     Press the "Y" button on the controller. This is a shortcut button for the Guide menu. It does not matter what option is highlighted in the menu.

     Press the "A" button to confirm the prompt that asks if you want to return the Xbox Dashboard menu.
