How do I Store Music & Video On an Xbox?

The Xbox 360 home video game console supports the ability to store different types of media on the console's hard drive. In addition to game content, both music and video files can be saved to the Xbox 360's memory for later playback. Music present on audio CDs inserted into the Xbox 360 drive can be ripped and saved, allowing access from the Xbox dashboard menu and during gameplay. While the Xbox 360 does not support storing videos from external media sources, such as DVDs, on the console, music videos, movies and television shows available on the Xbox Live Marketplace can be downloaded to the system's hard drive. Downloading videos requires an Xbox Live account, which is available for free.
