List of Call of Duty 4 Guns

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" is a first-person shooter available for numerous consoles, including the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is a war simulator taking place in anonymous locations around the world. In the game, there are literally dozens of weapons at the player's disposal, all of which fall into certain categories.

Assault Rifles
- Assault rifles are large, two-handed, rapid-fire rifles found in many first-person shooters. "Call of Duty 4" features the M164A, a semiautomatic three-round burst rifle effective at medium to long range; the G3 and M14 are single-fire rifles effective at medium to long range; and the AK-47, M4, G36C and MP44 are all fully automatic and effective at medium range.
Submachine Guns
- Submachine guns are smaller than assault rifles but still require two hands. They are more mobile and versatile than assault rifles. The submachine guns in "Call of Duty 4" include the MP5, Mini-Uzi, AK-47u and P90, which are all fully automatic and effective at close to medium range. The other sub machine gun is the Skorpion, which is fully automatic but inaccurate and effective only at close range.
Light Machine Guns
- Light machine guns are slightly more powerful and have longer ranges than submachine guns but not quite as versatile and take a while to reload. These guns include the M249 SAW, RPD and M60E40, all of which are fully automatic and effective at medium to long range.
Shotguns
- Shotguns are extremely powerful, often resulting in a one-hit kill provided the target is very close; they fire a wide range of bullets but are not accurate. There are two shotguns in the game: the W1200 is a pump-action, while the M1014 is semiautomatic. Both are powerful and effective only at close range.
Sniper Rifles
- Sniper rifles are extremely powerful long-range weapons that require a steady hand to operate. They can result in one-hit kills if used correctly. The sniper rifles in the game include the M40A3 and R700, which are both bolt-action (one shot, then reload); the M21, Dragunov and Barret .50-caliber are all semiautomatics.
Pistols
- Pistols are small one-handed guns and are the easiest to come by; they are generally semiautomatic, fire one bullet at a time and are only effective at close range. The pistols in the game include the M9, the USP .45-caliber, the M1911 .45-caliber, the Desert Eagle and the Gold Desert Eagle.
