How to Program a New Xbox 360 Wireless Controller

The Xbox 360, the latest video game console from Microsoft, was released in 2005. The latest-generation console in video game technology allows for wireless play with the Xbox 360 wireless controller. Connecting, or syncing, the wireless controller to your Xbox 360 can be completed in less than a minute.

Instructions

    • 1

      Press the large, round button marked by the power symbol on the Xbox 360 console to turn it on. Green lights surrounding the power button will spin and flash, signaling the console is on.

      Press and hold the large "X" button at the center of the wireless controller to turn it on. Green lights surrounding the "X" will spin and flash, signaling the controller is on.

      Press the round syncing button marked by ">>>" on the console.

      Hold down the round syncing button marked by ">>>" on the top of the wireless controller.

      Wait for the green lights that surround the power button on the console and the large "X" button on the center of the controller to spin and flash. This means the controller is connecting to the console. A single light will illuminate on the console and the corresponding quadrant of the large "X" button on the controller when the controller has been successfully connected to the console.
