How to Transfer Rock Band Songs Onto Rock Band 2 for XBox 360

Rock Band 2 allows you to import the songs from Rock Band 1 into the Rock Band 2 tracklist. This does not include songs you downloaded to Rock Band 1, as they can simply be downloaded onto Rock Band 2. The imported songs can be played in any of Rock Band 2's game modes, similar to the native Rock Band 2 songs. A small, one-time licensing fee (in the form of Microsoft Points) is required to import the songs.

Xbox Live Silver or Gold membership
400 Microsoft Points
Xbox 360 hard drive, memory card or USB flash drive

Instructions

  Insert the Rock Band 1 disc and connect to your Xbox Live account. You will be prompted to update the game. Select "Yes, update now." The game will reset when it is finished. The Export option will be added to the Rock Band 1 menu.

  Select "Export."

  Enter the code shipped in the Rock Band 2 instruction manual. You will be prompted to pay the licensing fee for the songs. Your Xbox Live account will be charged 400 Microsoft Points. The Rock Band 1 songs will be transferred to your Xbox 360 hard drive (or the storage device of your choosing).

  Insert Rock Band 2 and select your Rock Band 1 songs from the tracklist in the same way you would select Rock Band 2 songs (Quick Play mode would be quickest).
