Weapon Information
Turok is a highly trained soldier with training in various forms of weapons. A number of weapons are available throughout the game. Knowing what weapons to use when can give you a better chance at surviving the attacks of the enemies. For example, the knife is the weakest weapon of the game and it can be difficult to defeat any type of opposition. However, anytime you see the trigger icon on the screen and you are wielding a knife, pressing the action button will result in an instant kill, no matter what enemy is attacking. Using a Perforator compound bow shot will pin a human enemy to a box or wall, instantly killing that character. The Enforcer shotgun has a secondary use that shoots flares that attract large dinosaurs. Shooting flares at human enemies will make dinosaurs attack those characters first, allowing you to make easy kills.
Final Boss Battle
The final boss battle with Mama Scarface in Turok can be very challenging. Never stand in the open spaces of the stage. Run back and forth between the large crates; they hold sticky bomb guns and rocket launchers which are much more effective against the boss than Turok's bow and arrows. Hide around the crates and shoot the sticky bombs before running away. Jump over the lava pools when needed because coming into contact with them will deal a large amount of damage. Don't be tempted to use the gun turrets in the area. Turok will be stationary when entering and leaving the gun, making him an easy target for the T-Rex. The moment the dinosaur falls to its side, run to it with the knife equipped to initiate the final kill sequence. If you do not do so in enough time, the T-Rex will stand back up and you will have to knock it over once again.
Additional Information
A main difference between the single player and campaign modes of Turok is the amount of ammunition that the weapons hold. Understand exactly what type of weapon you are using during both modes of play. Constantly reload so you are not caught in a dangerous position shorthanded. If you're ever pinned down or low on health and need a quick escape, equip Turok with the knife. Holding the knife causes Turok to run much faster due to its lighter weight. This will help you with quick maneuvers when you are about to be overwhelmed.
