How to Play an Xbox in HD on a Laptop

In the era of expensive high-definition televisions, you can opt to play video games on computer monitors or laptop screens. The high resolution afforded by these screens allows for high-definition gaming without the investment in a new television. To play the Xbox 360 in high definition on a laptop screen, you need Microsoft's VGA HD AV cable as well as a compatible laptop.

Things You'll Need

  • Xbox 360 VGA HD AV cable
  • Laptop with VGA port

Instructions

Turn off your Xbox 360. Turn on your laptop and shut down any unnecessary programs.

    • 2

Plug the trapezoidal plug of the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV cable into the back of your Xbox 360.

    • 3

Plug the VGA plug of the cable into the VGA port on your laptop; this port also is shaped like a trapezoid and is likely on the rear of the laptop.
