How to Put MP3s on Your Xbox With a Flash Drive

The Xbox 360 allows you to connect portable storage devices such as USB flash drives for file and data transferring purposes. As long as your flash drive is plug-and-play-compatible--meaning that it doesn't require third-party drivers to be installed, it will work with your Xbox 360. (Consult your flash drive documentation to find out if it supports plug-and-play.) Using a flash drive is one of the easiest ways to transfer MP3 files to your Xbox 360.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Xbox 360 and a controller. Plug the flash drive into a free USB port on the console.

    • 2

Go to the "My Xbox" menu and select "System Settings." Choose "Memory."

    • 3

Select your flash drive and choose "Music" or "Audio" as the item type. Select the MP3 file(s) that you want to transfer to your Xbox 360. Once selected, choose the "Copy" option and select your Xbox 360 hard drive (or memory unit if your Xbox doesn't have a hard drive) as the destination.
