How to Use a Microsoft Wireless Headset for Xbox 360

Microsoft's Xbox 360 offers players a number of wireless technologies that make gaming easier and more fun. In addition to wireless controllers, players can chat or discuss strategy using wireless headsets. In many team games, such as Halo 3, players benefit from communicating with each other, so headsets are essential for improving game play and creating a more realistic gaming experience. The wireless headset, sold separately from the Xbox 360 console, is easy to connect and use.

Instructions

Connecting Your Headset

  Turn on Xbox 360 console and wireless headset.

  Press the connect button on the Xbox 360 console. This button is directly below the right edge of the disk drive on the front of the console.

  Press the connect button on the Xbox 360 wireless headset. This will assign the headset to the first available spot and associate it with the first available wireless controller.

  Observe the ring of light on the front of the Xbox 360 console to determine which quadrant lights up. This quadrant illustrates which player the wireless headset is associated with.
Using Your Headset

  Charge your Xbox 360 wireless headset by plugging the headset into the Xbox 360 console using the provided USB cable.

  Press the power button to turn on the wireless headset. Check the console to be sure it is also powered, and that the wireless headset is connected.

  Place the headset on your right ear, adjusting the ear loop for comfort.

  Adjust the microphone and earpiece volume by pressing the volume buttons located on the earpiece.
