How to Transfer Saves From a 20Gb to a 120Gb Xbox 360 Hard Drive

Game saves that are stored on a 20Gb Xbox 360 hard drive can be transferred to another Xbox 360 hard drive. To transfer your games saves, you need an Xbox 360 hard drive transfer kit. You can buy this kit from the online Microsoft store (see Resource). The kit allows you to connect two Xbox 360 hard drives together and provides CD software to create a transfer for game data and other stored information.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off your Xbox 360 game system.

    • 2

Open the hard drive cover on the top of your Xbox 360 system.

    • 3

Connect the 20Gb hard drive to your system by inserting it into the hard drive bay.

    • 4

Disconnect any other devices from the system except for a controller.

    • 5

Connect the large box-shaped end of the hard drive transfer kit to the connection port of the 120Gb Xbox 360 hard drive.

    • 6

Connect the USB end of the transfer kit cord into a USB slot on the Xbox 360 system.

    • 7

Turn on your Xbox 360 system and insert the software disk that came with the hard drive transfer kit. The transfer software should launch automatically.

    • 8

Follow the prompts that appear on your television screen to transfer the game data from the 20Gb hard drive to the 120Gb hard drive.
