How to Download XBox Files to a Flash Drive

Xbox 360 consoles are manufactured by Microsoft and save game data to a detachable hard drive located on the side of the console. You can download your Xbox 360 user data and files to a USB memory device. Copying your hard drive files will take about 10 minutes.

      Connect the hard drive that contains your user profiles and game saves to the Xbox 360. Insert your USB memory device into a free USB port on the front or rear of the console.

      Turn on your Xbox 360. The console will detect your USB memory device and ask you if you want to format it for use as a compatible Xbox 360 memory device. Press the "A" button to confirm you wish to reformat the device and the console will prepare your USB stick for use with the XBox 360.

      Move the analog stick to the right until you select the "System" tab. Press the "A" button on the controller and select "Memory" then press "A" again. Select "Xbox 360 Hard Drive" then press "A." The Dashboard will display a list of all gamer profiles, game saves, and other user data stored on the Xbox 360 hard drive.

      Select the file(s) you wish to download from the Xbox 360 to the USB flash drive and press "A." Select "Copy" by pressing the "A" button and choose the USB memory device you inserted into the Xbox 360. Select "OK" and press "A" again. The console will copy your selected files from the Xbox 360 hard drive to your USB flash drive. You can use the files at any time once the copy process is complete.
