How to Connect a Linksys Adapter to My XBox 360

You can use a Linksys adapter to go online with your Xbox 360 via Xbox Live. Install your Linksys wireless router to your home computer. Then purchase an Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter. Install the adapter to your Xbox 360 console and your system will be ready for online play once you create an Xbox Live account.

  Attach the Linksys router to the modem supplied by your Internet provider. Run an ethernet cable from the router to your modem. Insert the installation disc into your computer and follow the instructions for setting up your wireless network.

  Insert the installation disc that came with the Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter into your Xbox 360 system and turn off the console. Power it back on and install the software by answering "yes" to any update questions when prompted. Insert the Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter to the USB port on the back of your Xbox 360 console. Remove the installation disc and turn the power off.

  Check to make sure all the proper lights are lit on both the Linksys adapter and the Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter. Power on your Xbox 360 console and test its connection to Xbox Live. Create an Xbox Live account on your Xbox 360 dashboard to experience online gaming.
