      Disconnect your external hard drive from your computer and power outlet, and place the external hard drive near your Xbox 360.

      Connect the USB cable on your external hard drive to one of the two USB ports in the front faceplate of your Xbox 360 (the USB ports will be behind the flap, to the right on the front faceplate).

      Plug the power cable connected to the external hard drive to a power outlet near your Xbox 360.
