How to Sync Windows Media Center With an Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 was built to offer more than a game system--it was built as an all-in-one entertainment system. WIth the 360's, you can watch movies, play games, browse the Internet and even store or stream your favorite music from your computer. Using Windows Media Center, your Xbox 360 can stream music over your Internet router, allowing you the luxury of listening to music as you play games or browse the Internet.

A wireless router.
Windows 7 or Windows Vista operating system

  Configure your network. Using your wireless router, connect both your Xbox 360 and your PC. A router serves as a gateway for both your PC and your Xbox to connect to the Internet. Without a router, only one connection would be possible.

  Connect to your Xbox. On the Xbox's dashboard, select "My Xbox." Then select "Windows Media Center" to receive the eight-digit code. This code allows your Xbox to recognize your media player on your computer.

  Configure your Widows Media Center on your PC. Click the "Tasks" and select "Add Extender." A screen will appear asking you to enter the eight-digit code from your Xbox 360.

  Play music on your Xbox. Select "Windows Media Center" from "My Xbox" menu and begin playing music. With Windows Media Center, you can play movies as well.
