How to Copy Data to an Xbox 360

Copying Data

  Turn off the XBox. Insert the USB flash drive with the files you want to copy into either USB port on the front of the XBox.

  Turn on the XBox. After the menu loads, scroll to the "My XBox" section, select "System Settings" and press the "A" button. Select "Memory" and press the "A" button. All of the connected storage devices will be displayed.

  Select "Flash Drive" and press the "A" button. A list of different categories based on common file types will be displayed (i.e, any movie files on the flash drive would be in the "Videos" category).

  Select the category that corresponds with the type of data you want to copy and press the "A" button. All of the files in that category will be listed.

  Select the file that you want to copy, press the "A" button and select "Copy." You will be asked to which device you want to transfer the file. Select "Hard Drive" and press the "A" button.

Adding Files to Flash Drive

  Connect the USB flash drive to a USB port on your computer.

  Click the "Start" button in the Windows taskbar. Click "Computer" ("My Computer" for Windows XP users).

  Double-click the icon for USB drive (it may also be titled Removable Disk (G:) or something similar). The root storage directory, where all of the files are stored for the flash drive, will open.

  Drag and drop the files you want on the flash drive into the root storage directory.
