How to Wire a Flash Drive to Use as Xbox Memory Card

The Microsoft Xbox, much like many of the other sixth-generation home gaming consoles, does not have a USB port for the insertion of USB drives. However, cables exist that can convert the USB signal to the Xbox's proprietary USB signal, and this allows for interaction between the Xbox and flash drive. Once you have the cable, connecting any flash drive to your Xbox will be a snap.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the flash drive to the USB end of the Xbox-to-USB cable.

    • 2

Connect the Xbox end of the USB cable to one of the controller ports.

    • 3

Turn the Xbox on and begin playing a game. Because the XBox simply uses a different form of USB cable in order to connect to Xbox controllers (and the memory cards that may be connected to the controllers), the XBox will treat the flash drive as if it were a memory card.
