Turn on your Xbox 360, either by holding down the big Xbox button in the center of the controller, or by pressing the power button on the Xbox 360 itself.
Go to the avatar menu. Go to the My Xbox tab in the main menu and press A on the profile page. Here, select "Customize Avatar."
Change your facial features. Press the "My Features" button. Here, you can change your hairstyle, give yourself makeup and change your facial features. Give yourself a radically different haircut, such as a Mohawk or an Elvis Presley-like pompadour. You can also add a unibrow and elfin ears. Press B to go back when you're satisfied.
Change your clothes. The style page has a number of free and funny options, such as a Hawaiian shirt or a puffy shirt, along with a top hat and monocle.
Buy extras. If you are not satisfied with your avatar's appearance so far, you can look for more options in the Marketplace. This step is optional. Push A to select "Marketplace" in the main avatar menu. The Marketplace has a number of game-related outfits, so you can look like a character from "Star Wars" or "Halo." Select the style you wish to buy, then press "Confirm Download" when the new window comes up.
Take a picture. Select "Gamer Picture" from the avatar menu. This will be the picture associated with you. You can do numerous funny things with it. To change your avatar's expression, press the left bumper. The make the avatar dizzy, hold down the right or left trigger. You can make the avatar burp by pressing the right stick down. You can also make the avatar spin by holding the right stick in one direction, and then quickly moving it the other direction. When you get the funny look you're satisfied with, press the right bumper to take a picture.
Go down to the bottom of the avatar main menu and press "Save and Exit." This will save and create your new avatar.
