How to Use an Xbox 360 With a PC Monitor

The Xbox 360 provides users with standard cables that are used most commonly with televisions. However, if you want to set up your PC monitor with the Xbox 360, you must purchase Microsoft's VGA cables. VGA cables are the PC monitor standard and connect the monitor to a computer's video card. The Xbox 360 display settings will allow you to set the resolution that your PC monitor can support.

  Power down the Xbox 360 console.

  Connect the Microsoft A/V connection to the back of the Xbox 360 console. The VGA side of the cable will contain pins and be used to plug into your monitor. Make sure the Xbox 360 A/V connection is securely inserted.

  Plug in the other side of the cable, the VGA input, into the monitor.

  Connect the red and white (left and right) audio cables to their respective inputs in the monitor or speaker receiver.
